Sri Lankan security forces subjected to dictatorial rule

A group of lawyers have reportedly visited Geneva to forward a complain with evidence to the UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) during its 13th session of the Sri Lankan police and security forces being subjected to a dictatorial rule.

According to information received from sources in Geneva, the group of lawyers is to discuss the complaint with the officials during the course of the week. Reliable sources said the group had taken along with them video graphic evidence to back their complaint.

 

Meanwhile, Attorney General Mohan Peiris is also engaged in a tour in Geneva.

  Although the Disaster Management and Human Rights Ministry has said the Attorney General was in Geneva to attend the 13th session of the UNHRC, Peiris and his group has not yet received an invitation to attend the sessions.

 

The 13th session of the UNHRC commenced on March 1st and is to continue till March 26th.
