Special security arrangements as nominations begin

Special security arrangements have been made by the Police to secure areas around all the District Secretariats in the country as nominations began for the upcoming general elections today.

Additional road blocks, mobile patrols and random checks will be carried out with a view to safeguard the Secretariats where nominations will be accepted for the poll, Police spokesman SP Krishantha Jayakody said.

Nominations for the general elections will be received between February 19 and 26 at the respective District Secretariats.
